This five day four night trip offers an immersive river experience covering fifty six miles of the Upper James River Water Trail. The journey begins at Buchanan Virginia and takes paddlers through a combination of class I to II plus rapids, scenic mountain views, cool campsites, fishing spots, and swim areas. The adventure concludes with the white water section known as James River Gorge Balcony Falls. Customers can resupply at Buchanan on day three and many groups, including Boy Scouts, use this trip as a fifty miler qualifying adventure combined with river clean up projects. Due to the difficulty of the rapids and the remote nature of the trip, all groups are carefully screened beforehand. Prior canoe or kayak experience with class I to II plus rapids is recommended. Trips cannot end on a Saturday or Sunday and the last day shuttle pick up is at eleven AM or one PM.
Pricing includes rental of boats, paddles, life jackets, safety orientation, river maps, dry bags, water jugs, access to private camping land, and all required shuttles. This is an unguided trip, and customers paddle with their own group without staff assistance on the river. Food, camping gear, and river guides are not included. Participants must be able to self recover from rapids, and ages twelve and older with an adult guardian are recommended. The trip provides a challenging and rewarding experience for small groups seeking adventure, scenic paddling, and camping along a beautiful river trail.

I done the Loch Lomond cruise and afternoon tea yesterday the cruise was was great but the afternoon tea at the arrochar hotel was really disappointing the sandwiches were very dry and the teapot lid wasn’t very secure down and someone else could have been badly scolded so I wouldn’t recommend having anything 2 eat in the hotel I had 2 find somewhere else for something 2 eat and I should get some of my money back because of the horrible afternoon tea at least the cruise was worth it

Just returned from my first holiday with Glenton Holidays. The coach was clean and comfortable driven by Darren who was helpful and a safe driver. Irene the host was friendly and helpful. The hotel was in an ideal location. My room was clean and comfortable. The menu choices were varied and delicious. The excursions were great with time to explore. The good weather made it perfect. My holiday was enhanced by the good company. I am already looking at another trip. Well done Glenton Holidays.

Went trip to Donegal and stayed at the Central Hotel Hotel was lovely, great food and lovely staff, only problem we had was fire alarm going off early morning on our day of departure. Had a lovely host on the bus called Diane who was so helpful and friendly. Very helpful with guests requests and tries to suit guests needs. Trips on Water bus are recommended they are lovely and enjoyable. If I could make a suggestion that we were not impressed with trip to Letterkenny as not much to see or do there so maybe change to some other place. But our whole experience was really enjoyable on this trip, it was my first one so was impressed. Met lots of nice folk on the bus and made some real friends. Thanks to Diane for making it so enjoyable and also recommend you visit local Irish pubs they are great. Many thanks Ellen x

Surprising, entertaining and value for money. Travelled to Donegal, from Dunfermline by coach, and Stena fast cat. Tour guide Moira and driver Darren, both were fun and caring. Stayed at the Central Hotel great food, lovely staff, with spacious rooms. 5 days, wanted more !!! Thankyou I will be back M🌻

Done 2 tours with Glenton Holidays this year so far. North Coast 500 - coach tour and Jersey by Air. Good hotels at great locations, Easy to book either online or by telephone. ABTA and ATOL protected company. Had a brilliant time, met some lovely people. Will definitely book again with the company in the near future.
