This full day river trip offers an exciting adventure for paddlers of all skill levels ages six and up. Guests are shuttled nine miles upstream to the Horseshoe Bend public boat ramp to begin the journey, then paddle back downstream to the riverfront store location. Along the way, participants will encounter a variety of class one and two rapids, including Ritchies Falls, a challenging class two rapid that adds excitement to the trip. The first four miles of the river are designated as a state scenic river, offering beautiful mountain views and peaceful stretches of water. The trip is unguided, so guests are responsible for navigating the rapids safely and following the river maps provided. The flexible take out location allows visitors to fish along the way or take breaks as desired.
All rentals are included in the trip price, such as boats, paddles, life jackets, dry bags, safety orientation, and required shuttles. Food and drinks are not provided, so guests should bring a picnic lunch and plenty of water. Check in occurs at the retail store with a safety briefing before the shuttle to the launch site. All participants must be able to swim, wear proper footwear, and travel with at least one other person. The trip lasts approximately three and a half to five hours, making it a full half day of fun, adventure, and scenic river exploration.

Sunshine

They were very professional and friendly. They helped with every question we had and they were there at the beginning and end of the trip. Will definitely come back and use them again. We had a great trip kayaking Horseshoe Bend! Definitely recommend!

We had a fabulous time! The captain was very knowledgeable and made the trip upriver fun, interesting, and educational. The views while kayaking were just breathtaking and seeing mustangs grazing the river bank thrilled my daughter. I kayak a lot all over the country, and this was definitely one of the most enjoyable paddles I’ve done. Even my family, most of whom had NO interest at all, had a fabulous time and said it was a highlight of our trip.

It was an amazing experience! Be warned though, it’s about a 5 hour kayak ride back to get to the docking area again! I wish I would of been more prepared with snacks and drinks! Also, The sun will burn you completely, so bring sunscreen or long sleeves to protect yourself! Overall it was fun, my husband and I played music along the way and enjoyed the little beaches on the side of the waters. Speaking of waters! It’s super cold! I wouldn’t recommend swimming unless your up for it!

Excellent experience! Very communicative and organized leading up to the tour. Our captain was excellent and shared tons of education on our back haul trip. If you opt to rent their kayaks, they’re high quality and very comfortable. We couldn’t believe the views from down in the Colorado river.

The knowledge of the staff was very helpful. They gave us tips during the boat ride on where to stop and sightsee and different landmarks we should look for. The staff were friendly and professional and were easy to talk to. We had a large group so we had to ride separately on 2 different boats and we all had the same experience of feeling like our boat captains were experienced, friendly and knowledgeable. Great price for such an enjoyable adventure! I definitely will be booking with them in the future.
