Ice Festival Multipitch Ice Climbing Skills

This clinic is designed for climbers who already know how to lead but want to tackle bigger and more challenging ice climbing objectives. Participants will learn how to assess the safety of various ice routes, understand objective hazards, and make informed decisions about which climbs are appropriate for their skill level. The focus is on building knowledge and judgment needed to approach larger objectives with confidence.

In addition to safety assessment, the clinic emphasizes technical skills required for bigger climbs. Participants will practice building solid anchors, transitioning efficiently between sections of a climb, and managing rope systems on longer routes. By the end of the session, climbers will have the practical skills and confidence to plan and execute more ambitious ice climbing objectives safely and effectively.
