Colorado is one of the top destinations for ice climbing, offering a mix of thrilling challenges and breathtaking scenery. Ascending a frozen waterfall may seem improbable, but with experienced guides, climbers can develop the rhythm, balance, and technique needed to climb safely year-round. The state features a wide range of locations, from the famous Ice Park in the San Juans near Lake City to expansive backcountry routes, as well as more accessible climbs for those in the Front Range. Whether you are seeking technical challenges or a scenic introduction to the sport, Colorado has something for everyone.

Climbers can start with basic instruction on essential gear, including crampons and ice tools, and progress steadily to more advanced climbs. Multi-pitch routes such as The Sherman Route, along with mixed and alpine climbs, provide unforgettable experiences for those looking to push their skills further. With knowledgeable guides to tailor each climb to your ability and location, ice climbing in Colorado combines adventure, learning, and the unique beauty of the Rocky Mountains’ winter landscapes into an experience that is both exhilarating and memorable.

First time trying climbing and decided to pop into Gravity after work. I had a fair idea of what to expect since I’d read a few Google reviews beforehand, but still, what a fun experience! The staff were friendly and the place had a great buzz about it. The routes were well thought out and offered a good mix of challenge and fun, even for a beginner like myself. It did get a bit busy later in the evening, but that’s to be expected in a popular spot. Overall, solid setup, good atmosphere, and I’m glad I gave it a go. Might just be back for round two!

This climbing center was very cool. The rules for people climbing there are a bit to specific. They seem to think that Bouldering is for some kind of smart people and you need a introduction course, which you habe to pay for. For me it‘s just a cash cow. The things you need to know you can learn in a 5min talk or in a quick video. At some point in the evening it’s getting overcrowded and you have no time for yourself climbing alone.

This review is made as a tourist in Dublin. I visited this gym and overall had a okay experience, but there are a few areas where I think things could be improved. The first, and my biggest issue, I found that the holds didn’t grip very well. Many of them were very dirty (blackened), which makes climbing less enjoyable and harder than it should be. They are not cleaned before setting a new route to keep them feeling fresh. It was also not always clear what the final hold of a problem was, since the top holds are not labeled or coded in any way. This sometimes made me unsure what the correct ending is. Another thing I noticed is that the bouldering walls are placed quite close to each other. Because of this, climbers often end up in each other’s way, which doesn’t feel ideal in terms of space or flow. Lastly, I felt the entry process was a bit heavy on the safety checks. I absolutely understand the importance of safety, but in this case it felt like overkill: I had to take a test, watch a video, and answer multiple questions, even after passing the initial "test". On top of that, there was an extra €5 fee for the first entry, perhaps to cover all these additional safety checks, which made the whole process feel less welcoming than it could have been.

Coming from the US, I had no idea what route setting in Ireland would look like. What I found out was that the climbs at Gravity Climbing Centre were very well thought through. The grading scale is a bit different, so I had to work out what was best for me, but every single route I climbed was a welcome challenge. The people in the gym, staff and patrons alike, were so helpful any time I needed something. Most importantly, the atmosphere of the Centre was incredible. You can tell that the regulars come back for a reason and each person I interacted with made me wish this was my home gym.

As a medium-level climber, I can confidently say that Gravity Climbing is one of the best indoor climbing gyms I’ve visited. Whether you're looking to push your limits or just enjoy a fun session, this place has it all! The route setting is excellent, offering a great mix of technical problems and dynamic moves that challenge both strength and technique. I love how there’s always something fresh to work on, with routes that cater to all levels while still providing a good challenge for intermediate climbers like myself. The atmosphere at Gravity Climbing is fantastic—friendly, welcoming, and motivating. The staff are knowledgeable and always happy to offer tips or beta if you need a hand. Plus, the climbing community here is supportive, making it easy to strike up a conversation and learn from others. The facilities are top-notch, with clean, well-maintained walls and a great variety of holds. The training area is well-equipped for those looking to improve their strength and technique, and the overall layout makes for an enjoyable climbing experience. Overall, Gravity Climbing is a fantastic place to climb, whether you’re looking to train seriously or just have a great time on the walls. Highly recommend it for any climber looking for a fun and rewarding session!
