Great combo of things to see. Guide was fun and knowledgeable. Suggestions: 1. Make two options for the younger hiker folks and those of us who walk less these days. I was happy to see the lava tunnel and the volcano crest and would have spent more time at the lodge instead of the walking. I felt bad for the young ones on the tour who probably would have liked the longer hike. 2. Did not need a requirement of closed shoes. Paths would have been fine in a sturdy sandal. 3. Turkey sandwich lunch was boring... something more authentic maybe?

Our guide, Jon, really knew his Astronomy. He was able to explain how the ancients navigated using the stars to tell time, seasons, and locations. He also gave us a lesson on objects we were seeing in the sky using his cool laser pointer. Plus he set up his telescope and showed us several deep space objects like the Ring Nebula and The Andromeda Galaxy and Saturn. This was one of the best tours we took on the Big Island.

Wow, wow, wow! My family of four took a private tour to the waterfalls, and we couldn’t be more pleased. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the Hawaiian culture, plants, and geology of the area. He had an obvious love of the land. We took a lovely hike, visited multiple waterfalls, had an excellent lunch, and enjoyed an overall wonderful day. Highly recommend.

Better late than never. This is absolutely one of the best experiences we have ever had anywhere in the world. Also one of the most economical. Telling that price doesn’t equate service or experience at all. Staff were absolutely amazing. We got lucky that day and there were just us and another couple with 2 staff to help guide us on the trip. Views were spectacular and staff were fully prepared with umbrella snacks water raincoats. We got some amazing views and great memories to cherish forever. Thank you.

Recommendation: Must do it. Amazing, rare experience to see the Sun set above the clouds and the stars at the height of observatories. The Summit & Stars adventure was amazing. The view of the clouds, landscape and stars through the telescope was unique and breathtaking. Our guide, Jason, was a large part of what made the excursion great. He was funny, knowledgeable and passionate about history, culture and the night sky. He was also clear about safety and how to prepare for a trip to a high elevation.
