Explore one of the most scenic corners of the Apuseni Mountains with a full-day hiking adventure to the Vlădeasa massif—the northernmost range of Transylvania’s central Western Mountains. Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Cluj-Napoca, followed by a beautiful drive through the countryside to the traditional village of Rogojel. Before the hike begins, we’ll pause to admire a rare Sequoia tree, standing tall among wooden homes that preserve the spirit of rural Romanian life.
The trail starts with a steady 2-hour hike to Vlădeasa Chalet, where a Romanian-style picnic offers a welcome break. Re-energized, you’ll begin a rewarding 2-hour ascent to Vlădeasa Peak, the third-highest summit in the Apuseni range at 1,836 meters. On the return route, the striking White Stones viewpoint offers sweeping vistas of the mountains and valleys below—an unforgettable highlight. The full loop, including stops, spans about 7 hours and 18 kilometers, making it ideal for hikers with moderate fitness.
In winter, the landscape transforms into a snow-draped wonderland, where thick snowfall, frozen waterfalls, and serene silence redefine the trail. This cold-season version of the hike becomes more challenging and is suited to experienced hikers with excellent physical condition. To complete the day, we’ll make a short drive to the romantic Răchițele Waterfall—Bridal Falls—where legend meets nature in a dramatic setting. After sunset, you'll be returned comfortably to your accommodation, filled with stories and memories from a truly immersive mountain adventure.

Natural beauty and spring water in the amazing Pisoaia Fall !

It is an easy walk to the waterfall but is not suitable for olderly people because if you want to get closer you have to climb a bit.

Just a 10 min walk from the main road where you can leave the car in a big parking lot. If you are with the motorcycle, you can continue nearer. Nice waterfall .

Nice waterfall, not so great but beautiful. A lot of parking spots for 5 lei. Easy access by foot, only 5 minutes of walking from parking.

A very unique waterfall. It is not huge but it offers a lovely view. You can walk a bit and you will see it from the top too. You don’t need hiking shoes. The downside of this is that there is no parking so be prepared to park on the edge of the road but the waterfall is very near so that is and advantage if you have kids or you can’t walk long distances. It is worth admiring the view from the top and in autumn the colours are amazing.
