We had an excellent Fly Fishing and camping tour with Curly Guide tours. Turdu, Radu, Mari, Paul, and Denisa were a delight. We fished the Rebra River in the Carpathian Mountains of Transylvania Romania. The camp food was excellent and the fly fishing great. The tents , sleeping, and camp gear were in excellent condition! The camp location was spectacular!
Our guide, Tudor gave us an amazing introduction to Romania (Cluj was our first stop). The curly tour was the perfect mix of culture, nature, and history. Tudor is super knowledgeable about current/past Romania as well as the area around Cluj. We realized there's so much to see there and wished we had more time to explore after meeting Tudor.
My wife and I had an amazing day trip with Tudor when we visited Cluj Napoca. We first visited the Tudor Salt mines which was truly spectacular. After that we had a two hour hike along a gorge in the mountains. The scenery was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. Finally we visited a convent and got a chance to see the beautiful chapel with its amazing frescoes which were completed entirely by the nuns. To say that what we saw was an incredible feat of human endeavour would be an understatement of what two very experienced travellers observed. Tudor was an excellent host very attentive to our needs and most accommodating. His knowledge of his subject along with his warm personality made this trip so special. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough, a must for anyone visiting Cluj Napoca.
