Wife and I had our wedding here this past weekend and wow! Had the best time of our lives. What a magical place. Lost for words. The staff is so kind and caring. The hotel is stunning, food is amazing. Turn down service is amazing. What a gem!

Hotel Casa Palmela feels like one of those dreamy old-world experiences you just don't really get anymore. Situated slap bang in the middle of Arrabida Natural Park, it is surrounded by rolling vineyards, cork oak trees and beautiful vistas. We did a boat experience and a cycling experience in the grounds and it was so incredible. Food was lovely and the staff so great as well. One for if you really want to rest and recharge

Hotel was fine. Restaurant was great with great food, view and service. Restaurant was the highlight. Hotel staff are not well trained — we mostly got stuck with the “trainee” who was clearly just that. Massage was wonderful. Room (premium category) was absolutely tiny, impossible to have two suitcases out at the same time. The balcony off the room was wonderful with great view. Pool is sub par and there are not enough umbrellas for all the hotel guests. All in all, not likely to go back.

My husband and I are making a concerted effort to stay in small, boutique hotels to support local businesses and more sustainable practices. That said, we learned of Hotel Casa Palmela through a google search and enthusiastically booked our stay. It was total perfection! The property was serene and lush with nature, including gardens which produce much of the delectable restaurant food. They also had a horse and a goat on site, so as animal lovers, we were thrilled. There are relics of the house’s history, giving it a special charm. Palmela is also stunning and the hotel recommended Once Upon A Day for a biking tour, which was a great way to explore Setúbal. Additionally, the staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and professional. Just a few days after our stay, my parents stayed at Hotel Casa Palmela and equally have rave reviews. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My stay was absolutely wonderful. The place itself is stunning, they even have their own private forest where you can go on beautiful walks. But what really made it special were the people working there. Everyone was so kind and caring, especially the head waiter Joao, who is such a joy, super talented and speaks so many languages! Lillian at the front desk was also amazing. I had quite a few asks and they took care of everything with so much care. Really grateful for this stay.
