It was very nice cooking experience. Beka is a perfect host. We tried different Georgian dishes, among them Khinkali (Georgian dumplings) Khachapuri (bread with cheese) Eggplant with walnuts Ajapsandali (Georgian vegetable stew) Cornbread Traditional cucumber and tomato salad Sulguni (traditional Georgian cheese) 2 different homemade wines Chacha (traditional vodka). Such a great experience! Aside from the great dishes we learned a lot about georgian cooking, had fun while preparing the meal and eventually sat to eat it with drinks and music. The hosts are amazing people and meeting them is half of the fun.
Our family of 5 (3 kids, ages 6, and 12) reached out to Beka at the last minute and he kindly accommodated us for a morning cooking class. The whole experience was beyond anything we could have imagined and I this was definitely the highlight of our trip to Georgia. We were treated like family from the moment we walked through the door. We learned how to make Khinkali, Khachapuri, Ajapdandali and much more and got real, hands-on experience. We tried different kinds of wine, chacha, fresh fruits and all left with full bellies (maybe too full!).
