Keelboat Refresher Bellingham
Keelboat Refresher is designed for sailors who already have sailing experience and want additional practice with an instructor. The four hour course is suitable for participants aged 16 and above and focuses on building confidence before attempting independent sailing.
Participants practice aboard J 24 keelboats while learning the specific rigging and handling procedures used by the Community Boating Center. Training covers departing from and returning to the mooring under sail, helping sailors become more comfortable with practical boat handling.
The course uses a four to one student instructor ratio, allowing instructors to focus on individual needs and provide practical guidance. It is suitable for sailors who recently completed a sailing course or experienced sailors who are new to the Community Boating Center.
The program is designed to prepare participants for the skills test required for independent boat use. The skills test is not administered during this course, so participants should arrange it separately when they feel ready.
