Young ocean lovers ages 5–8 can discover the excitement of the Atlantic during this two-hour Groms Surf & Beach Club experience at Palmetto Dunes. Designed especially for children, the high-energy session combines surfing, beach games, exploration, and environmental learning in a fun and supportive setting.
The adventure begins on the sand with kid-friendly yoga and playful movement games to warm up. The main event then takes place at the water’s edge, where experienced instructors teach children the basics of surfing, including how to lie on the board, paddle, and catch their first waves in shallow whitewater using a surfboard or boogie board.
After the water fun, young explorers can search for ocean treasures using professional sifters. Children may discover fossilized shark teeth and tiny shells while enjoying a relaxed beach activity before moving on to the final part of the experience.
The session ends with a Beach Walk & Talk focused on local nature and conservation. Young guests learn about sea turtles, the importance of protecting sand dunes, and simple ways to care for the beach, leaving with new skills, discoveries, and a greater appreciation for island life.
