A new Summer Adventure Camp is offering children an immersive week of outdoor activities designed to combine recreation, education, and environmental awareness. The program features a wide range of water-based and land-based adventures, giving campers the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of marshes and waterways while developing practical outdoor skills.
Daily activities include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, fishing, crabbing, cast-net throwing, and swimming, all integrated with STEM-based learning and ecological exploration. Campers are encouraged to engage with their surroundings, building confidence and teamwork while gaining a deeper understanding of local wildlife and coastal environments. Rotating sessions ensure participants experience each activity throughout the week.
On land, the program expands into additional adventure-based learning with archery, disc golf, rock climbing, and guided nature walks. These activities are designed to promote coordination, problem-solving, and physical fitness while reinforcing lessons about the region’s ecosystems and native species. The balance of water and land experiences creates a well-rounded outdoor curriculum.
The camp operates across multiple locations, including the Rowing & Sailing Center, Mid Island Tract, and the Island Recreation Center. All equipment, including fishing gear, bait, and safety equipment, is provided by staff, who supervise all activities to ensure a safe environment. With structured scheduling, expert guidance, and a focus on both fun and learning, the program offers children an engaging and memorable outdoor experience.

An Unforgettable Team Day at Alive Outside! Our team had an absolutely fantastic time at Alive Outside adventure centre! A huge thank you to our hosts, Arianna and Ciaran, whose friendly welcome and guidance set the perfect, high-energy tone. We tackled a brilliant mix of activities, ranging from individual challenges like Archery and Axe Throwing to collaborative fun. Highlights included the logic of Crack the Code, the design work of the Catapult Challenge, the hilarious coordination of The Floor is Lava, and mastering survival skills in Bushcraft Adventure. Alive Outside offers an exceptional blend of fun, physical activity, and strategic teamwork. We highly recommend this centre to any group looking for a challenging and unforgettable outing.
We had a great experience with Alive Outside for our daughter’s 8th birthday party. The staff were amazing - really helpful in assisting us both in the run up to the party and on the day. The kids absolutely loved Lauren and all the activities they got involved in. Especially the toasting marshmallows!! They all said it was a fantastic party! We would 100% book again and would absolutely recommend.
U9 Girls WCC had an brilliant time at H+B junior Saturday 6th and planning on going again in May. From an organiser viewpoint, the whole event was so well organised from booking the girls in, parking, getting girls through staring line and collecting them at the finish line. A special thanks to Ciaran Campbell who helped in sorting out the few adjustments we had to make. One thing a couple of the girls mentioned, was that there wasnt enough people to tell them where to go in the beginning and forest area. They said kids where skipping an missing a bit. I had 2 girls from the wave after us say that they think they skipped a bit and had lost their group. So maybe a few more wave leaders to make sure everyone stays together. Other than that would highly recommend H+B junior. Looking forward to signing up our Team Coaches and Parents for next summer.
