Hluhluwe Imfolozi Safari and Emdoneni Wild Cat Day Tour

The tour begins with a scenic drive from Durban along the northern KwaZulu-Natal coast, arriving at the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes later. Accompanied by an experienced guide in a closed vehicle, you'll explore South Africa’s oldest game reserve, established in 1895 and covering 98,000 hectares of hilly savannah. The park is renowned for its rich biodiversity and is home to Africa’s iconic Big 5 – lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino – as well as a wide range of other animal and bird species. The northern section, Hluhluwe, is celebrated for its vibrant wildlife, while the southern Imfolozi region is globally recognized for its white rhino conservation efforts and innovative wildlife management practices through the Centenary Capture Centre.

A midday stop at Hilltop Camp (own expense) offers time to relax and enjoy a meal with panoramic views of the reserve. After lunch, the adventure continues with more wildlife sightings before departing the park en route to the Emdoneni Wild Cat Sanctuary. This educational and conservation-focused facility offers guests the unique opportunity to observe and learn about some of South Africa’s most endangered wild cats, including the cheetah, serval, caracal, and African wildcat. These animals, often orphaned or injured in the wild, are rehabilitated with care and respect.
