The tour begins in Durban and travels north to the renowned iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, formerly known as the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park. Declared South Africa’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1999, the park earned this status due to its stunning natural landscapes, vital ecological systems, and rich biodiversity. Visitors will enjoy a 2-hour guided boat safari along the estuary, where you can get close views of hippos, crocodiles, and the majestic African fish eagle. After the boat ride, take a relaxing walk along the estuary to appreciate the scenic coastal surroundings.
Next, the tour continues to the Emdoneni Wild Cat Sanctuary, where you'll gain insight into South Africa's elusive and endangered wild cats. The sanctuary is home to several species, including the caracal, serval, African wildcat, and cheetah. You’ll be amazed by the grace of the caracal, charmed by the servals, and impressed by the cheetah's speed. The sanctuary focuses on the rehabilitation of orphaned or injured wild cats and, where possible, breeds and releases them back into their natural habitat.
