This full-day tour explores the central and historic highlights of Malta, beginning in Mosta, home to the famous Rotunda Church. The Mosta Dome, built in the 18th century, became known nationwide in 1942 when a bomb fell through the roof during World War II but did not explode, sparing the lives of around three hundred people. After admiring the church, the tour moves to Ta’Qali, where visitors can watch skilled artisans at work creating glass art, silver filigree jewellery, and other traditional crafts. This stop offers an excellent opportunity to purchase unique souvenirs that capture the essence of Maltese culture.
The tour then continues to Mdina, the old capital also known as the Silent City. This historic city is best explored on foot, wandering through narrow streets, alleys, and past ancient buildings. From the high bastions, visitors can enjoy expansive views of the island. The final stop is Valletta, Malta’s capital and a World Heritage Site. Walking through its 16th-century streets, guests visit Barrakka Gardens for panoramic views of the Grand Harbour. The tour also includes a visit to St. John’s Co-Cathedral, where the famous painting “The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist” by Caravaggio can be admired, a masterpiece and the only painting signed by the artist. This tour combines history, culture, and art into a single memorable day.
