1-Day NSBC On-Water Training Modules 1-4

This hands on on water powerboating course follows the National Safe Boating Council curriculum and is designed to build confidence and practical skills at the helm. Training covers four structured modules including introduction to powerboating, precision docking and boat handling, open water boat handling, and advanced open water maneuvering. Safety is the primary focus from the beginning, starting with boating terminology, pre departure checklists, and understanding safety equipment placement and use. Instruction takes place aboard a twenty three foot center console single outboard engine training boat, giving students real world experience in vessel control and maneuvering.

The class is typically structured for two students per instructor to ensure focused guidance and maximum practice time. Up to four students may attend, with training delivered across two days when needed. Throughout the course, students develop skills in throttle control, steering techniques, close quarters handling, and operating in open water conditions. The goal is to help participants feel comfortable and capable when operating a powerboat independently. Instruction is delivered by certified instructors with recognized credentials in boating safety and training standards.
