Build your sailing skills with this comprehensive four day keelboat course designed for beginners and progressing sailors. During ASA 101 you will learn to skipper a sloop rigged auxiliary powered twenty five to thirty five foot keelboat in moderate wind and sea conditions. Training covers essential sailing terminology, parts of the boat and their functions, helm commands, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship, and safety procedures. You will also practice basic sail trim and understand navigation rules that help prevent collisions and hazards on the water.

Advancing into ASA 103, the course expands your knowledge to cruising sailboat terminology, boat systems, and auxiliary engine operation. Students gain hands on experience with docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, anchoring techniques, coastal navigation, weather awareness, and overall onboard safety. The class runs four consecutive days with eight hours of instruction each day. Overnight stays are not part of the program, and participants return to the marina at the end of each training day. This structured format allows students to gain confidence, competence, and practical experience in a supportive learning environment.
