This two day course builds on your foundational sailing skills and prepares you to confidently skipper a sloop rigged auxiliary powered keelboat between 25 and 35 feet in length. Training takes place during daylight hours in moderate wind and sea conditions, giving students real world experience in a controlled learning environment. You will develop confidence at the helm while expanding your understanding of sailboat systems and onboard responsibilities.

Throughout the course, you will learn cruising sailboat terminology, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, intermediate sail trim, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring techniques, weather awareness, safety practices, and seamanship skills. The program focuses on hands on learning, teamwork, and practical decision making. By the end of the course, students will be better prepared to skipper a cruising sailboat safely and responsibly in coastal waters.
