ASA 104 Bareboat Cruising - Sandusky Safe Harbor

Advance your sailing skills during this immersive three day liveaboard course designed for experienced students ready to handle larger vessels in more challenging conditions. You will learn to skipper a sloop rigged auxiliary powered sailboat between thirty and forty five feet while cruising inland or coastal waters. Training takes place in moderate to heavy winds and varying sea conditions to build confidence and seamanship. Instruction covers provisioning, onboard systems, auxiliary engines, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation, anchoring, mooring, docking procedures, emergency operations, and weather interpretation. This hands on course emphasizes leadership, decision making, and teamwork while living aboard the vessel for two nights.

Students gain real world cruising experience while developing the skills necessary to plan and execute extended passages safely. You will practice route planning, managing onboard resources, and responding to changing weather and sea states. Space onboard is limited to ensure focused instruction and safety.
