I have met the owner Miss Jo unfortunately two weeks before I left San Miguel. A warm and welcoming place where you can enjoy and learn a lot about photography and also about innovative concepts, techniques and creative approaches to the art form Today. It's also a wonderful hub of established artists both local and international, who are very friendly and willing to share with you about their own personal work, as well as the curator, artist and founder Jo ,who's vast knowledge, life-long dedication and genuine artistic spirit is surely an incredible asset to San Miguel de Allende. There are inspiring exhibitions and workshops offered year round, and Saturdays at 11 the center either has a meet-up or opening well worth visiting! AND it's smack dab in the historical center!
I have been going to Jo Brenzo's Saturday social group each year that I come to San Miguel. The group has given me the opportunity to not only learn, but meet other like-minded photographers. In addition, Jo offers a variety of stimulating workshops on site. I took her street photography workshop. She has tremendous knowledge about every detail of photography from how to use your camera to editing. Best of all Jo is offers photography workshops throughout Latin America. I went with her to Cuba...what a delight! She knew every aspect of Cuban life. She has maintained friendships with the locals going back each year to visit with pictures she took the year before. Jo let’s you grow as a photographer...she is organized, has thorough handouts, and a schedule so you can plan accordingly. Jo has workshops to Columbia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Oaxaca, Chiapas and more. I will be going to Argentina with her this year for a thirteen day workshop.
