Embark on an unforgettable journey to the impressive archaeological complex of Chichén Itzá and explore one of the most significant ceremonial centers of the Maya civilization. The tour begins with convenient hotel pick-up in Cancún or the Riviera Maya, followed by a scenic drive through the beautiful landscapes of the Yucatán Peninsula. Upon arrival, marvel at the step pyramid of Kukulcan, also known as El Castillo, where the equinox casts shadows along the steps to form the image of a descending serpent. Walking through the ancient structures, you can admire the remarkable architectural precision of the Maya, while your guide shares captivating stories about their culture, traditions, and spiritual practices. Every corner of the site reveals history, from grand plazas to sacred temples, creating a deep connection with the civilization that once thrived in this region.

The experience continues with a visit to the sacred cenote Saamal, a natural sinkhole that is part of an extensive network of underground rivers revered by the Maya people. Here, you can take in the serene beauty of the crystal-clear waters surrounded by lush jungle, appreciating the harmony between nature and spirituality. Afterward, enjoy a delicious buffet meal at a nearby restaurant, offering a chance to savor regional flavors and relax. The day concludes with a leisurely stroll through the colonial city of Valladolid, where colorful streets, historic architecture, and local culture create a perfect contrast to the ancient wonders you have explored. By the end of the tour, you return to your hotel refreshed and inspired, carrying memories of history, nature, and culture that make this journey through the Yucatán truly extraordinary.

Wow what an energy! Must visit for everyone! Wonder of the world. The structure, location, tour guides, the grounds are just breathtaking. 2hours are not enough to cover everything. Highly recommend private tour, to learn the unique placement, and construction of the structure. The grounds are filled with peddlers, a bit annoying but can buy hand made items way more affordably. Highly recommend!

We’re really glad we arrived around 7:30 a.m., as it helped us avoid some of the larger crowds and made the experience much more enjoyable. We drove ourselves and want to strongly recommend not stopping for anyone trying to flag you down on the road. They are either guides trying to sell tours or parking attendants directing you to unofficial parking areas. Just continue driving straight to the main entrance and park there, it’s clearly the correct spot and costs 120 pesos. Once you arrive at the entrance, there are plenty of official guides available, so there’s no need to arrange anything ahead of time. An English-language tour costs 1,300 pesos. We teamed up with another couple and split the cost, which made it feel very reasonable. There didn’t seem to be much room for negotiation on the price, but they did accept credit cards, which was convenient. One big advantage of hiring a guide is that they can sell you the admission tickets directly, allowing you to skip the ticket line altogether, definitely a nice perk. Overall, the guided tour was informative and enjoyable. That said, there are so many guides around that you could easily listen in on nearby tours if you prefer to explore on your own and still learn along the way. Overall, it was a good experience and arriving early made a big difference.

Ruim tijd gehad (1,5u). Daarna terug naar Valladolid en iedereen netjes op de eigen ophaal locatie afgezet. We hebben een leuke en fijne dag gehad. Voor het geld was het echt prima!

This is my second time visiting the archeological site, and It blew my mind once more, its just great, wear comfortable soes, this place is big. Get a guide so that they can explain the history. The fee is approximately $650 mx pesos for foreign visitors, and approximately $300 mx for mexican visitors.

Absolutely amazing historical site. Highly recommend to go early in the morning to avoid waiting to get in. I would also recommend to avoid all people trying to stop you to either be a tour guide or to park. Keep going all the way until you reach official parking and can hire a tour guide there. Otherwise, the site is incredibly preserved and feels insane to look at. There are lots of vendors, we bartered with a few for better pricing. The site is also pretty large, it goes beyond just the pyramid and shows a much more complex former civilization.

definitely the most overrated archaeological site in Mexico. although very beautiful there are bigger and more beautiful sights in Mexico. indefinitely less crowded places. have no mistake i definitely recommend visiting the site but uxmal or even tiutiuakan are much better.

A seguire altro cenote, pranzo buffet incluso.

It started well with prompt collection from the hotel in a small 6-person taxi. We were taken to the first cenote (not one of the ones listed) but only given 20 mins to change, shower, swim and get back in the car so it was very rushed. Then we went to the Mayan village which is just a shop and we were suddenly moved onto a huge bus with a large group all from Playa del Carmen - this wasn’t communicated and we were waiting in the shop for 30 mins. Then it went downhill - the second cenote was very touristy/grotty and the lunch was poor. We then went to Chichen Itza and were forced into a guided tour which we hadn’t asked or paid for - it wasn’t good and it ran for a long time. We were then dumped back in the town rather than back at our hotel as expected. I would not recommend this operator.
