Experience the vibrant flavors and rich history of Barcelona on a guided walking tour through the Gothic Quarter. Begin at Plaça de Catalunya, where your local guide will welcome you and introduce the fascinating stories of the city’s old town. Walk down Portal de l’Àngel and stop at Els 4 Gats, an iconic Modernist restaurant, to enjoy a traditional vermouth accompanied by classic tapas. Continue through narrow streets toward the Cathedral area, arriving at La Pineda, a historic deli where you can taste freshly sliced cured ham, “pan con tomate,” and a glass of wine. Learn about the evolution of the neighborhood as you stroll along Carrer del Pi and Avinyó, taking in the architecture, local anecdotes, and historical significance of this central area.

Discover the legendary bars and culinary traditions that have shaped the city for decades. Visit Bar La Plata, one of the oldest bars in the Gothic Quarter, and experience drinking wine from a “porrón,” paired with their signature fried fish dish. The tour culminates at Café de l’Acadèmia, where you will enjoy a full selection of traditional Catalan dishes, paired with wine and cava, celebrating the region’s rich gastronomic heritage. Throughout nearly three hours, explore the perfect blend of history, culture, and gastronomy, as your guide shares insights into Barcelona’s past and present. What a great experience. The history was great and a good introduction to good and wine of Catalunya. Ida was an exceptional guide and we laughed and talked for the whole time.

A few weeks ago, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with Ida in Barcelona. She led us on a brief tour of the Gothic Quarter before taking us to several excellent bodegas. We savored vermouth, fried sardines (which, surprisingly, my wife tried and loved), and other classic Spanish tapas. Though not a native, Ida knows the area like one. Her friendly interactions with locals in the bars and restaurants showed she’s well-known and respected there. For an authentic taste of Catalan cuisine, Ida is the perfect guide. This is a must do when in Barcelona!

Ida is an amazing tour guide! She is very friendly and knows the area so well. She took us around the Gothic Quarter to local bars and restaurants where we tried all different tapas and drinks recommended by her! A great way to get an authentic taste of Barcelona and to do a lot in a short amount of time! We showed up hungry and left so full. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone, especially if it’s your first time in Barcelona!

Tonight my son (18 yrs old) and me had the tapas tour with Ida. First we had a nice tour trough the gotic area. She gave us alle the time to explore and telling us the history of this beautiful place. Showed us churches and small streets and let us feel the history. After that we went to 3 tapas bars. We told we didn't like seafood that much and she was more then oke to let us eat good tapas and introduce us a small amount of seafood and we loved it!! We loved the tapas and the atmosphere. Thank you Ida for your kindness and lovely talks. We recommend you deeply!! Again thank you big hugs from us
