As featured in NatGeo Traveller UK 2025, this tour is built on the belief that tourism should genuinely give back to the local community. That’s why we deliberately avoid bars that pay commissions or rely on tourist discounts. Instead, we pay full price at family-owned establishments, helping preserve their businesses, traditions, and way of life. This approach allows you to experience the city authentically, without disrupting the balance between locals and visitors, and offers a true reflection of the local culture as it exists today.
There is no preset menu on this tour, as every experience is thoughtfully tailored to each guest’s dietary needs, allergies, and personal preferences—whether vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, celiac, or otherwise. You’ll visit welcoming local bars where tapas are enjoyed in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, while your guide shares insider tips and recommendations for the rest of your stay. Wine is, of course, included—but not the common labels found everywhere. Instead, you’ll taste rare and lesser-known wines from different regions of Spain, taking you off the beaten path and deeper into the country’s rich culinary heritage.

A few weeks ago, we enjoyed a wonderful evening with Ida in Barcelona. She led us on a brief tour of the Gothic Quarter before taking us to several excellent bodegas. We savored vermouth, fried sardines (which, surprisingly, my wife tried and loved), and other classic Spanish tapas. Though not a native, Ida knows the area like one. Her friendly interactions with locals in the bars and restaurants showed she’s well-known and respected there. For an authentic taste of Catalan cuisine, Ida is the perfect guide. This is a must do when in Barcelona!

My wife and I shared a wonderful evening of conversation, food and drink with Ida. Her knowledge of the history of Barcelona, and the best places to eat and drink off the usual tourist trail was excellent. She is a genuinely lovely person and a fantastic, engaging guide. The food was without exception delicious, and she even managed to get my wife to try octopus for the first time ever (which she enjoyed!). Would hugely recommend, and would consider this an essential to do for any first time visitor to the city. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ida is an amazing tour guide! She is very friendly and knows the area so well. She took us around the Gothic Quarter to local bars and restaurants where we tried all different tapas and drinks recommended by her! A great way to get an authentic taste of Barcelona and to do a lot in a short amount of time! We showed up hungry and left so full. I HIGHLY recommend for anyone, especially if it’s your first time in Barcelona!

Tonight my son (18 yrs old) and me had the tapas tour with Ida. First we had a nice tour trough the gotic area. She gave us alle the time to explore and telling us the history of this beautiful place. Showed us churches and small streets and let us feel the history. After that we went to 3 tapas bars. We told we didn't like seafood that much and she was more then oke to let us eat good tapas and introduce us a small amount of seafood and we loved it!! We loved the tapas and the atmosphere. Thank you Ida for your kindness and lovely talks. We recommend you deeply!! Again thank you big hugs from us

This was the best tour we did while in Europe! Ida was a great tour guide and took us to some wonderful places to eat and provided great information about Barcelona. Ida was so friendly and we had great conversations while we ate and walked. It was easy to see that Ida loved being a guide and loved her city! We can’t recommend this tour enough! Thanks Ida! We will always remember you!
