Experience the best of southern Peru with a 2-day journey from Arequipa to the stunning Colca Canyon, ending in the high-altitude wonder of Lake Titicaca in Puno. This tour is designed to maximize your time and adventure, allowing you to explore two iconic destinations while enjoying breathtaking Andean landscapes along the way. Depart early from Arequipa and travel through dramatic mountain scenery, stopping at highland viewpoints and traditional villages before arriving at the Colca Canyon—one of the deepest canyons in the world

On the first day, you’ll witness the majestic flight of the Andean condor from the Cruz del Condor viewpoint and explore the charming villages of the Colca Valley, such as Yanque and Maca. Enjoy lunch with local flavors and spend the night in Chivay, where you can relax in natural hot springs surrounded by mountains. This portion of the tour offers rich cultural experiences, stunning geological formations, and up-close encounters with traditional Peruvian life

On day two, after breakfast, begin your scenic transfer to Puno, traveling through expansive Andean plains dotted with wild vicuñas and alpacas. You’ll pass through remote high-altitude landscapes and reach Puno in the afternoon, ready to explore the legendary Lake Titicaca—the highest navigable lake in the world. This two-day itinerary is perfect for travelers looking to combine efficiency with unforgettable sights, skipping long backtracks and gaining a richer connection to the Andes

Massive landscape. One of the best views I ever had. We walk from the city of Cabanaconde to Lodge Llahuar. Which took us around 6 hours. Take enough food and water with you. Mininum is 2.5L per person. The views are amazing, it feels like you are walking in a beautiful painting every step. You need to pay 70 sol for entrance.

Off the scale scenery, great hiking and friendly locals. Generally safe to hike alone provided you are physically fit, can navigate and apply a bit of common sense. Finding accommodation was straightforward and the food was good

I was a part of a three-day trekking tour from Arequipa. One can also take one or two day packages. Careful, as the road crosses a pass at 4900m altitude and you can experience altitude sickness, so bring some water with you. The canyon is great, condors fly around, there's greenery everywhere, rivers, avocados (palta!), local villages, and small shops all around. On the final day, the trek starts at 4am, be prepared to get up early. There are multiple passport controls, keep track of your documents at all times

Must visit destination. On the one day tour you’ll be in a convoy of vans and barely have time to consider some of the activities offered. And while you have to get up super early you won’t have to sleep at high altitude - trade offs. Do yourself a favour and acclimatize at least 2 days in arequipa before - a few people in our group felt quite sick, diahrea and vomitting when heading towards 4900m.
