Over six action-packed days on the Weber River, you’ll gain hands-on experience running paddle rafts through class II whitewater sections from Henefer to Morgan. Guided by skilled professional river instructors, this program teaches everything from safety protocols to hydrology, boat rigging, and effective guiding techniques. By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to meet Utah’s requirements to carry passengers for hire, opening doors to summer work as a professional river guide.
Discover a fully immersive training environment where every day is spent learning and practicing real-world river skills. Optional First Aid and CPR certification is included for those who want to enhance their qualifications. Training is held at the Weber River Base Camp in Henefer, running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. You must attend all six days to successfully complete the program, which is offered either as two consecutive 3-day weekends or as one continuous 6-day session.
