Freerider (4 lessons)

This intermediate surfing lesson offers a comprehensive introduction to more advanced techniques over the course of four lessons, each lasting two hours. Participants will learn how to trim and turn, paddle out, perform duckdives and turtle rolls, catch and ride unbroken waves, and execute angled take-offs while riding both left and right. All necessary equipment, including 5mm thick winter-grade wetsuits, boots, gloves, and hoods, is provided to ensure safety and comfort in varying water conditions. Lessons take place at Sandend, Moray Firth, with alternative times available upon request, and scheduling may be adjusted based on surf and weather conditions. This structured program allows surfers to develop essential skills while gradually progressing in confidence and technique.

Suds Surf School provides professional tuition tailored to each participant’s skill level, from beginners standing up on a wave to intermediate surfers working on green waves or aspiring tube riders. Participants should bring towels, swimwear, waterproof sunscreen, and warm clothes for before and after lessons. After booking, a confirmation email with a code is sent, which should be used to book the second, third, and fourth sessions. The lessons combine safety, fun, and skill development in a supportive environment, helping surfers refine their technique, gain confidence in the water, and enjoy the exhilaration of riding waves in a structured and professional setting.
