A must visit in the area. Arrived with little awareness or knowledge of what was in store. The entrance is almost hidden in the ground by its sleek modern and environmentally conscientious design. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the locker rooms, showers, pool baths tidy and clean. The water is clear and warm, without the volcanic scents of other hot springs. It's bath is sea water warmed by the Geothermal heat resource. The swim-up bar had a nice selection; good for all ages and tastes. A fresh made smoothie was particularly delicious after a solid time of self-torturing in steam shower. The views are weather dependant, but when it's good, they're great! Left rejuvenated and ready for more adventures.
Water temperature range between 36-40 degrees, but we didn’t see any signs about it anywhere, so it felt a bit like I burnt myself when I first walked straight in to the 40 degrees section. (Which was rather empty most of the time, and the coldest areas were still a bit too hot in my personal opinion). Nice views and friendly staff, a bar with soft and alcoholic drinks available. Changing rooms / shower facilities clean and look quite new, shampoo/shower gel/conditioner (by an Icelandic brand Soley) available, as well as hair dryers and vanity table for those who want to touch up their makeup. Towels are not included in the ticket, which takes away from the “spa” kind of vibe and makes it feel a bit more like a public swimming pool. Could use a swim suit drying machine in the changing rooms (the spin thingy that’s available pretty much everywhere in Iceland)
Had a great day in this thermal bath. Beautiful view with three pools with different temperatures. The bar offers a nice variety of drinks and the pay system with the bracelet is very uncomplicated. Would wish for showers with more privacy. Loved the amenities, such as shampoo etc.
