El Nido Airport (ENI) is perfectly sized to support and service tourist travelers efficiently. Processes are remarkably quick, and the staff is extremely hospitable and helpful. The atmosphere is notably clean and bright. Definitely a welcoming gateway to El Nido !
El Nido's airport is a small, functional terminal located about a 15-20 minute ride from the main town. Be aware that ticketed passengers cannot enter the main terminal until two hours before their scheduled departure. We arrived 3.5 hours early and waited in a covered outdoor area, which had a few small food kiosks and souvenir stalls. Once inside, the process was efficient. The single security line moved quickly, and the main departure lobby is a single room with one gate and a small cafe counter selling coffee and pastries. The main drawback was the comfort of the waiting area. Despite two stand-alone AC units, the indoor temperature was between 78-80°F. We noticed several large ceiling fans that were turned off. When we asked a gate agent if the fans could be turned on to help circulate the air, he replied that "they don't help very much" and did not turn them on. Overall, the airport provides the basic services needed for a regional flight, but the staff seemed unresponsive to simple passenger feedback regarding the warm and stuffy conditions in the waiting room.
A small and simple airport, but everything works efficiently. Check-in and boarding were smooth, and the staff were polite. There aren’t many facilities or food options, but that’s understandable for a local airport. Overall, a clean and organized place — good enough for travelers visiting El Nido.
