I found an ebony game board for USD 50. The exact same board was sold in our hotel for USD 25. That means this place is charging more than 100% extra for the same product. Quite impressive pricing – in a negative way.
Did a museum tour here. Their fashion jewelry with Tanzanite is cute. I regret not buying a Tanzanite stone there because I ended up buying it in Zanzibar like a fool (even though I negotiated there I still think I overpaid). That said, cute jewelry on the opposite side where they sell the souveneirs. 14kt gold raw tanzanite fashion necklace perfect for layering. Horn necklace is my own.
We asked to our safari guide a place to buy a tanzanite stone and they adviced us this shop. They also told us that some shops might have fake tanzanite gems so we trusted them that this is a legit store. The atmosphere and staff are very professional. We were attended by Pat and we bought a 2ct tanzanite gem with gold pendant (no chain), EC. We paid around $1050 and accordingly to chatgdp is good priced. So far so good, thanks Pat for the assistance. The place has also a nice cafeteria where we had lunch and they offered us a coffee, a nice detail. You can negotiate slightly and I think in Arusha price should be better than Zanzibar
