Bayon Temple is the soulful heart of Angkor, famous for its many serene stone faces gazing calmly in all directions. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, it blends spirituality with storytelling through intricate bas-reliefs depicting everyday life and epic battles. Walking among its towers feels deeply contemplative, as if the temple itself is quietly watching over time.

Excellent state of an ancient temple, not as well preserved as Angkot Wat, but it is much older. Here, you will feel the ruins and how time & jungle erode human civilisation. Another Must See in cambodia, my honest recommendation. Angkot Wat may take up to 2-3 hours, but here, you may take 1 hour++, all depending on tourist traffic. You may find some restoration works still happening. Great to take in the aroma of bat droppings here, unless Angkot Wat which was well maintained.

Visited Bayon Temple after visited Angkor Wat. Plenty of parking. Walk straight in. There are several entrances to enter. Onfortunately the main face of Budha at the entrance is under restoration. The carvings told stories of life, heaven & hell. We were lucky to meet 2 locals in Apsara Dancer Costume & Devi Queen Costume. Simply gorgeous.
