Great hike, with just a few tricky spots. When you get to the top you can see Reykjavik and all the way out the peninsula to Keflavik, and the other direction you can see all the way to Snæfellsjökull. Can get very windy near the top and it’s a steep drop off so be careful.

The southernmost trail gets quite steep & scrabbly about halfway up. Attempted with older folks and 4 and 7 year old kids and turned around at that point. The middle trail of the 3 that start around the mountain base is an easier climb, the northernmost trail leads to a plant crash site and is easier still (though without a view).

Windy, snowy, icy, treacherous and mildly dangerous. Also one of the coolest hikes I've ever done. 60mph wind gusts and open terrain. 4 packed days in the wilds of Iceland and this is the one thing I remember most. Fantastic views of the peninsula, the ocean, and Reykjavík across the bay. If you're going in spring, summer, or fall it wouldn't be bad. If you're going in winter, make sure you have spikes and you are confident in your abilities. If you're confident in your ability, definitely go in the winter.

This was a very nice hike. Very windy in places. We hiked to the left peak from the parking lot. We parked in the upper lot which made the hike more challenging than it needed to be. Once you climb the cattle fence steps, turn left and follow the fence over the stream.

Very good views, we had to turn back though as the path was too steep for us. I wouldn't want to climb the path in the rain. There is maybe a 30 minute trek up the mountain before it gets very steep and you have to climb. Access to the car park is good but a little bumpy if you are not in a 4x4
