This Mount Kenya trek is more scenic than Naromoru and lies on the drier side of the mountain, offering some of the finest walking routes. The trek begins on the northwest side near Nanyuki and climbs through forest to a wide ridge approaching the summit area. Adequate access and bunkhouse facilities make this route comfortable for climbers. Though the summit can be reached in four days as per the itinerary, an overnight acclimatization in Nanyuki town is recommended to prepare for the climb. This can be arranged at an additional fee. The trek provides breathtaking views, varied terrain, and an unforgettable mountain adventure suitable for experienced and well prepared hikers.
The trek includes all meals during the climb including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, transfers to and from the base of the mountain, treated water, guaranteed trek on confirmation, all park entrance fees including government taxes, and a successful climb certificate upon completion. Please note that a passport is required. The trek is not wheelchair or stroller accessible, not suitable for pets, and no public transportation is nearby. Infants must not sit on laps, and infant seats are unavailable. The trek is not recommended for travelers with back problems, pregnant travelers, or those with heart conditions. Pick up is available from apartments and airbnbs. Laundry, tips, sleeping bags, climbing gear, accommodation before the trek, international flights, visas, and other personal expenses are not included.
