Amboseli National Park is cherished as a true game viewing paradise where wildlife encounters feel effortless and deeply rewarding. The park offers exceptional visibility across open plains and wetlands, allowing visitors to experience nearly every habitat within a short stay. Free roaming elephants are the unmistakable stars, moving gracefully against wide horizons while many other animals share the landscape. Amboseli also rewards travelers with unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro, the tallest free standing mountain on Earth, rising majestically above the savannah.
The lifeline of Amboseli flows from the melting snows of Kilimanjaro, feeding underground springs that sustain swamps and green marshes. These vital waters draw animals of every size including elands waterbucks gazelles zebras hartebeests and warthogs. Such rich grazing grounds support powerful predators like lions and leopards alongside hyenas jackals civets and wildcats. This balanced ecosystem creates constant drama and beauty, making Amboseli a place where nature reveals itself in vivid detail.

Famous for the Elephants and mt .kilimanjaro. There are no Rhinos. You lucky you can spot cheetah and Lioness. The place is hot though

We booked 1 day in advance. The pickup was communicated the evening before we went. Pickup was on time. Drive was nice in a 7-seater van (not a jeep) and we were lucky to have for ourselves. The safaris were gorgeous and we saw a lot of cool animals, but the driver was not very talkative. We did not get to go on the walk on the observation hill. The driver said he drove us to lions instead, told us so only after we asked as we left the park. The biggest disappointment was that the accommodation was not what we booked, being (15 minutes driving) outside the park and without swimming pool, but the organization only compensated us with a (too) small 10$ per person refund (250$ pp trip). All in all I think this is a very good experience for the price, especially when you compare it with other options that are frequently ~2 times the price of this one. But they should really make sure that you get what is advertised on the page, or are informed of the changes before you go on the trip.

Wonderful park with lots of elephants. It’s very accessible and therefore gets crowded. Opt to stay inside the park so you can wake up at dawn to herds of elephants right out your door. Pretty much all the big game besides rhino exist. A key highlight of this park is the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. There are amazing photo oppurtunities of giraffe and elephants with the mountain behind it. Amboseli means dust and dust there is. Bring protective gear for your equipment to shield the dust. Photos may get difficult when traffic passes kicking up a storm of dust so be wary. Definitely worth a visit and it isn’t that far from Nairobi. But stay overnight at least one night if not two.

Just had an amazing trip to Amboseli National Park! The scenery with Mount Kilimanjaro in the background is breathtaking. Saw so many elephants up close, plus lions, giraffes, and colorful birds everywhere. The guides were super knowledgeable and friendly. Perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. Can’t wait to go back! 🐘🌄

Best national park in Kenya to see elephants. Also best view of Mount Kilimanjaro when the weather permits. Many families of elephants roaming around. No rhinos here. Relatively close to Nairobi. We were able to see lions, hippos, hyenas, and a serval.
