The Big bus tour is a good way to get around and see Hong Kong from an open top bus. I recommend it for first time visitors. Our own experience was spoilt by waiting nearly 25 mins when we stopped at the ferry point for a change of driver. This was very frustrating and took the shine off the experience. The commentary is all prerecorded and yes it does the job, but I prefer a real life guide. That said many of the places you see can be done by walking. Still worth doing, but expectations should be managed.
I've been to multiple big bus tours and I would definitely recommend the Hong Kong one. They are very organized and efficient. The English commentary was great. The staff are very helpful. Special kudos to Manny who took care of us in the Ferry Terminal stop. He is a gem!
