Discover Connemara by bike on a scenic adventure starting in the charming town of Clifden, the gateway to this breathtaking region. As you set off, immerse yourself in Connemara’s rich history, rugged landscapes, and spectacular coastline along the Wild Atlantic Way. Pick up your hybrid bike, equipment, and map, then plan your own unforgettable journey through this unspoiled paradise. Cycle through the haunting beauty of the bog road to the picturesque fishing village of Roundstone, where the craggy coastline and rolling hills create a mesmerizing backdrop. Pass through Ballyconneely and visit the historic Alcock & Brown Memorial, the landing site of the first transatlantic flight. Alternatively, take the renowned Connemara Loop, leading you to Tullycross and the stunning Renvyle Peninsula, where the former castle of the legendary pirate queen Grace O’Malley stands as a testament to the region’s fascinating past.
Another scenic option is a ride along the Wild Atlantic Way towards the charming fishing village of Cleggan, passing through Claddaghduff and the stunning Omey Beach, where the evocative coastal landscapes offer endless photo opportunities. For a shorter yet equally rewarding route, cycle along the world-famous Sky Road, where panoramic views of the land and sea unfold before you. Stop at Clifden Castle to explore its atmospheric ruins, steeped in history and charm. Wherever your journey takes you, enjoy a leisurely lunch in one of the local villages, savoring fresh seafood or traditional Irish fare while taking in the beauty of your surroundings. Whether you seek adventure, history, or simply the freedom of the open road, cycling through Connemara promises an experience that is as invigorating as it is unforgettable.

Great bike i chose electric coz you can go far with it. Love the adventure

Amazing bike shop! We had to get our entire drive train replaced on a longer tour and emailed the bike shop before arriving to make sure they had the right spare parts. Even tough they didn't, the mechanic figured out a solution via telephone and changed the whole thing the next day when we arrived. Such a great and competent service, and for a fair price as well. Thank you again for your flexibility and quick help!

- Clifden Bike Shop The people in Clifden Bike shop are amazing, so kind and helpful. They are not just trying to sell something- they are looking after you – like a friend would. I visited the shop last Aug and was given tourist info and maps – all free. They have a great selection of bikes for sale and rent and lots of accessory cycling gear. I am bringing a group of 30 cyclists, from Dublin, on a cycling /camping tour to the area in June. I have purchased 30 T Shirts from the shop. They were posted to me with 5 star service. I get the feeling that if we need any assistance that we could call them and they would sort us out immediately

Amazing day with hybrid bikes (Trek FX2) for a 44km tour ! It took about 3 hours (not counting a lot of stops to take pictures !). Good advice from the owners, lovely people !

Very friendly staff. Good (and relatively) new bicycles. We cycled a few routes, the Sky Walk (see photos) is *stunning* and absolutely recommended. It's Beautiful. (Please be aware that for renting an e-bike you must be 18+).
