Those guys were the sweetest. So i rented a bike and had an accident. Unfortunately I did bend the hand brake. They kept on asking if I'm okay and offered me some plasters. Additionally they didn't even charge me extra for the damages... I definitely recommend you their shop 🫶

For those in a rush, I‘m starting with the main bullet points. Further details below. - super efficient & friendly communication - offering customized tours, based on personal needs and preferences - excellent rental bikes - perfect support during tour - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED I trusted „The Rough Guide to Ireland“‘s recommendation (almost always a good referece) and contacted the West Ireland Cycling-team - relatively short notice - regarding a May 2025 solo-rider cycling tour through western Irland. In a very efficient and friendly email-exchange, based on my preferences, John recommended and planned an 8-day tour. Upon arrival in Galway, I was given a choice of bicycles and had one fitted to my needs. Opted for a very well maintained Trek gravel bike - best bike I ever rented. Along with the bike, I received a tour briefing and a perfectly prepared tour information package - loved the booklet on cultural background and the daily turn-by-turn directions for my tour (so much better than GPS). The tour provided stunning rides through the various landscapes of the Connemara. Quiet roads, breathtaking views, stunning beaches, rolling hills. Absolutely amazing! I opted for 60-80km distance per day, which turned out just right to allow enough time for stops (cafes, beaches, picknicks, chats with locals, pictures…) and some extra loops here and there. Once I arrived at my next overnight base, my luggage was as already there - never had such luggage service before. Sweet optional luxury to go bike packing without the weight ;-) B&Bs were spotlessly clean and comfy, with friendly hosts. Always with a good choice of breakfasts. Based on my experience: don’t hesitate and GO FOR IT. Cycling in western Ireland is absolutely wonderful. West Ireland Cycling makes sure you get the best out of it. Thanks to the entire team for a wonderful holiday.

Where to begin 💕! This is our second self-guided cycling trip in Ireland where the itinerary was organized by “Wilma” (Green Marble Tours) and our bikes and support provided by West Ireland Cycling. We were blessed with amazing weather our entire 12 days (no rain in April/May 2025). Wilma did an incredible job creating our custom itinerary, Toni provided a very thorough (and helpful) briefing and John rescued us on Achille Island when we suffered a bike mishap after hooking a fallen branch on the “Greenway” (an incredible path between Westport and Achille Island). Everything is so well organized by this team; we worried about nothing at all (other than getting from one place to the next). If you are thinking about a cycling trip in Ireland, these are really the people you need to reach out to. Thank you Wilma, Toni & John 💕! We could not be more pleased with our latest experience and maybe we’ll be chatting about Scotland 🚴 before too long!

The nicest and most competent bike rental I've ever used! The rental was hassle-free and easy to reserve in advance. The rental and return process were super quick. They gave me really good recommendations on where to go! I unfortunately left their repair kit in the shop and then had a breakdown. The staff still helped me out and were on the road in no time. It was the best personal experience I've had in a long time! Here are some impressions from my trip.

It was the second time that I rented a bike for 3 weeks. The price was more than fair. I was often asked how much I paid and everyone was surprised about the low rate. With the bike came a lock, a helmet, a repair kit and 2 xxl panniers. I cycled down to Doolin, took the ferry boats to Inishmor and to Rossaveel. Next stops were Roundstone, Leenane and Westport and then I cycled the Great Western Greenway to Achill Island and back to Westport. Matt was very friendly and patient. He adjusted the saddle and the handlebar and put an extra bag I brought from home on the handlebar. He took all the time I needed. Being nervous at the start of a tour that was exactly what I needed. Being on the road I had a problem with the brake, caused definitely by myself. I contacted the shop and I got a replacement bike the very next day, free of charge! Being alone without a great knowledge of technical stuff it's just a good feeling being covered by the West Ireland Cycling guys! Communication is easy and quick. I truly can recommend that shop! Thank you 😍
