Discover the beauty of Connemara by bike on a scenic adventure starting in Clifden, a charming town located in the heart of this picturesque region. From here, you can explore the rich history, heritage, and breathtaking landscapes of Connemara along the Wild Atlantic Way. Pick up your hybrid bike, equipment, and map, and plan your route for an unforgettable day. One option is to cycle along the haunting bog road to Roundstone, a quaint fishing village, and then pass through Ballyconneely, taking in the rugged coastline before stopping at the Alcock & Brown Memorial, the historic site of the first trans-Atlantic flight. Alternatively, set off for Tullycross and the renowned Connemara Loop, which leads you to the stunning Renvyle Peninsula, where you can also explore the ruins of Grace O’Malley’s castle.

For a shorter route, head to the charming fishing village of Cleggan, passing by Claddaghduff and the stunning Omey Beach, perfect for a scenic stop. Another fantastic route is to cycle the famous Sky Road, which offers panoramic views of the land and ocean, with a visit to the atmospheric Clifden Castle for a glimpse into the area’s past. Wherever you choose to go, take time to enjoy the beauty of Connemara, and stop for a delicious lunch in Roundstone, Cleggan, or Clifden, where you can savor fresh local seafood or traditional Irish dishes.

Amazing bike shop! We had to get our entire drive train replaced on a longer tour and emailed the bike shop before arriving to make sure they had the right spare parts. Even tough they didn't, the mechanic figured out a solution via telephone and changed the whole thing the next day when we arrived. Such a great and competent service, and for a fair price as well. Thank you again for your flexibility and quick help!

- Clifden Bike Shop The people in Clifden Bike shop are amazing, so kind and helpful. They are not just trying to sell something- they are looking after you – like a friend would. I visited the shop last Aug and was given tourist info and maps – all free. They have a great selection of bikes for sale and rent and lots of accessory cycling gear. I am bringing a group of 30 cyclists, from Dublin, on a cycling /camping tour to the area in June. I have purchased 30 T Shirts from the shop. They were posted to me with 5 star service. I get the feeling that if we need any assistance that we could call them and they would sort us out immediately

Very friendly staff. Good (and relatively) new bicycles. We cycled a few routes, the Sky Walk (see photos) is *stunning* and absolutely recommended. It's Beautiful. (Please be aware that for renting an e-bike you must be 18+).
