We went to Ruby Falls before going here, and I am so glad we did. Because the experience at Raccoon Mountain was FAR superior. We felt welcomed from the time we walked in the gift shop. Timothy was a great guide and we had so much fun with him. It was just my husband and I so I know guiding just us over a group had to be a adjustment, but he took it in stride and really made it that much better. The Caverns are beautiful and if I was a spurlunker I would definitely go on some of their other offered tours.

Reviews suggested this was the better cave tour in the area and our experience suggests those reviews were spot on. We didn’t feel like cattle being rushed through a tour nor did we feel jam-packed with other tours on top of us. Instead we had an incredible tour guide (Timothy) and a wonderful small group (9 of us in total) from different walks of life to share this experience. I have toured Mammoth Cave several times and like a previous reviewer preferred this experience by far! Next time I’ll bring my daughter for one of the crawl tours and request Timothy. Thanks to the entire team and especially Timothy for a wonderful experience! We will be back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the campground. We had a back-in site with water/sewer/electric and it was perfect. No issues with any of the hookups. The wifi worked very well. Even Disney+, which is notorious to lag, worked great. Staff were all very helpful and nice! The location of the campground was so convenient for enjoying Chattanooga. It is right outside of the city but you would never know it. Everything was quiet and peaceful. We did the basic cavern tour while we stayed and it was one of our favorite caves we've ever experienced and we hope to go back and do th extended cave crawl. Our guide for this tour was Emily and she was wonderful. She was so sweet and knowledgeable and answered every question. We did have one member in our group who was a bit troublesome and she handled him so kindly like a pro so it didn't ruin the experience for everyone else!

Everyone in our group had a great time! A few of us did the cave tour and a few of us did the gem panning. The staff was very friendly, and the gift shop had lots of cute items for the whole family. The guide for our cave tour was funny and knowledgeable. We went to Ruby Falls a couple days before, and this experience was far better! The size of the tour group was more intimate and the guide really knew his stuff. We even got to see a bunch of baby salamanders! I'm hoping to come back another time to do one of the crawling tours!

This was our first time visiting raccoon mountain and caverns campground on Thanksgiving week and we cannot say enough about this place! Everyone we interacted with on the premises was super nice and helpful our entire stay. Devin our tour guide for the caverns was awesome our 7 year old enjoyed her attention and excitement throughout the tour and the gift shop was so cute! The campground itself was quiet and clean very peaceful! Would definitely recommend this place and plan on coming back in the future!
