Choosing the right bike depends largely on your height and the type of trails you plan to ride. For riders between 5’2” and 5’6”, the Polygon Xtrada with a small frame and 27.5-inch wheels is ideal, designed for single-track riding with a stiff aluminum frame, 130mm fork travel, 2x11 Shimano Deore drivetrain, and hydraulic disc brakes. If you’re looking for a full-suspension experience, the Specialized Status offers a mixed wheel setup with a 29-inch front and 27.5-inch rear, 160mm front and rear travel, 1x12 Sram GX drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes with 200mm rotors, and a dropper seatpost for tackling technical terrain.

For those preferring hardtail bikes, the Scott 970 and Scott 940 both feature 29-inch wheels for smooth rolling over bumps and excellent traction. The Scott 970 has a 1x11 drivetrain, 100mm fork travel, and hydraulic disc brakes, while the Scott 940 comes with a 2x9 drivetrain, 100mm fork travel, and hydraulic disc brakes. The Trek Roscoe is a plus-sized wheel bike with 130mm front air suspension, a 1x11 drivetrain, dropper seatpost, and hydraulic disc brakes, offering maximum traction and compliance for climbing and technical trails.

It was Sunday and all other shops were closed, but this one was open! I really appreciate that. The guy named Romeo was so kind and repaired my cycle very quickly. His work was excellent and very sharp. Thank you so much for the great service! He saved my day ....

We were quite disappointed. The people working there seemed annoyed that you want to rent bikes and were neither friendly nor very helpful. They didn’t even adjust the bikes to your height and leave you to it. The handlebars are way too low but they could not adjust it so it was not very comfortable to ride these bikes (but probably depends on which ones you are getting). Once you are in the park you realise that most of the roads are closed for bikes. So overall really not worth it in our opinion (if you just have it for an hour).

Definitely worth hiring a bike for an hour, cost €7 to get around Phoenix Park. We got to see its monuments like Wellington & Phoenix. Near the end on the left we saw in a copse lots of deer rutting & resting in the shade. The route is by dedicated cycleway & is flat. I loved the scenery which was nature woodland, grassland & landscaped gardens. The guys that run it were great. The first asked us to register by scanning a QR code then the second guy, Dave, who maintains the bikes gave us them which were in excellent condition. Dave in the picture is the man!
