Sea Safari Camp- Sea Detectives

Dive into an exciting and educational summer adventure at the Kemah Aquarium, where children become Sea Detectives for the week. Campers engage in up-close animal encounters, hands-on themed activities, and theatrical role play to solve the mystery of the vanishing kelp forest. Each day is filled with interactive learning experiences, from exploring kelp forest ecosystems and rainforest habitats to participating in scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and science experiments. The program encourages curiosity, teamwork, and environmental stewardship while fostering a love for marine life and conservation in a fun, immersive environment. Children will leave the camp with practical knowledge, new friendships, and a deep appreciation for the importance of maintaining ecological balance. Throughout the camp, participants enjoy guided tours, behind-the-scenes experiences, daily animal feedings, and rides on the scenic Kemah Boardwalk. Each camper receives a Sea Safari Camp t-shirt and is supervised by trained educators in a safe, supportive setting with low camper-to-counselor ratios. Activities cover ecology fundamentals, species roles in ecosystems, predator-prey interactions, coral reef restoration, and rainforest conservation, culminating in a celebration of the campers’ accomplishments and pledges to protect the planet. Special attention is given to accessibility, allergies, and other health considerations to ensure an inclusive experience for all. Parents are encouraged to register online in advance, plan for early drop-off or late pick-up if needed, and prepare for a week of exciting, educational fun.
