Crystal River is an excellent destination for kayaking, offering calm waters and easy navigation throughout Kings Bay. The bay forms a gentle circle about three miles across and covers roughly 660 acres, making it ideal for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. With no significant current, kayaking here is relaxed and enjoyable. We provide a detailed map and simple directions so you can explore confidently without worry of getting lost. Paddlers can move at their own pace and plan their day freely while enjoying the scenic surroundings.

Kings Bay is home to world famous springs such as Three Sisters Springs along with many lesser known springs that offer peaceful and beautiful views. Popular spots like Jurassic Springs and Hunter Springs are known for their clear waters, along with additional springs on the east side of the bay. The headsprings of Three Sisters Springs are open to kayakers from May first through November fifteenth before winter sanctuaries are established. Wildlife is abundant year round including manatees during colder months, a variety of birds and fish, occasional dolphins, and local tarpon often seen near the dive center.
