[Academy] Level 2 Class: The 2-Person Scene

Over an immersive eight-week period, you will dive deep into the heart of all great improv: the 2-Person Scene. This fundamental building block is where compelling stories are born and memorable characters come to life. We will guide you through the essential techniques that transform a simple idea into a captivating performance, setting the stage for both short and long-form improvisation. Your adventure into advanced scenework starts right here in destination. Each three-hour session is a hands-on exploration of dynamic and collaborative creation. You will learn to build entire worlds from the ground up, launching scenes from a single emotional spark or a complex, unspoken relationship. We will explore how a character's unique point of view can drive a narrative forward and how using the physical environment can add layers of depth and reality to your performance. This is a practical, active course where you will constantly be on your feet, discovering and creating with a partner in a supportive and energetic setting. By the end of this course, you will have developed a profound understanding of how to sustain and heighten a scene. Your ability to listen, react, and build collaboratively will be significantly enhanced, strengthening your confidence as a performer.
