Advanced Open Water Diver Course Expands Skills and Access to Deeper Dive Sites

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is designed for certified divers who want to build confidence, improve underwater skills, and explore more challenging dive environments. Rather than focusing on classroom instruction, the program emphasizes practical, experience-based learning through guided dives in real conditions.

Over approximately two days, participants complete five adventure dives. Two of these are core requirements: a deep dive and an underwater navigation dive. The deep dive introduces divers to the effects of increased depth on the body and equipment, while navigation training strengthens skills in orientation using compass techniques, timing, and natural reference points.

The remaining dives are selected based on individual interests and conditions available at the dive site. Common options include buoyancy control training, which helps improve stability and air efficiency, as well as specialty dives that may include wreck exploration, drift diving, or natural reef exploration.

All dives are conducted under instructor supervision, with equipment, boat transport, and necessary support included. The course is open to certified Open Water Divers who meet basic health and age requirements.

Upon completion, divers are qualified to explore deeper sites and more complex underwater environments, gaining access to a broader range of dive locations and specialty training pathways.
