This was breath taking and unbelievable 😳 it was so massive I couldn't believe the size of it and in the last 30years they have lost a km of it , but you see the icebergs floating in the river it left behind , I also felt that the closer you got you was getting colder... magnificent 🇮🇸✨️
A great place to visit and get some perspective. Plenty of parking available. Glacier viewing is an easy 20 minute walk there and 20 minutes back. Toilets and basic food options available. Well worth a visit.
Impressive place. If you follow the trail after the viewpoint, you can walk up directly to the end of the glacier. In theory you could even walk onto it but I would highly recommend not to do that without a professional guide. But there are also tours you can take to walk onto the glacier. If you want to do that, look for a longer tour that maybe goes further up the glacier, we saw quite a few tours that just went up a bit and it looked to be quite full there, you can have almost the same experience without a tour
