We had an amazing trip and loved the unbeatable convenience of staying at Yosemite Valley Lodge. Our room’s location right across the street from Base Camp Eatery made grabbing food and heading out so easy. Being right in the heart of the valley is truly incredible!
Location, of course, is incredible, right across from Yosemite Falls. Also, right at the number seven shuttle stop. The check-in staff I thought were very friendly and helpful. Cleanliness was not the best, but the room was a very comfortable place to stay. We got a good deal I think. I don’t mind the rooms being dated because the Lodge has been there for a long time and that gives it a really great feeling.
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. We stayed in Juniper building, double bed room that was very much outdated with moldy shower curtain, old carpet and linens and door locks that needed hard jiggle to work. I'm not sure if other buildings and rooms are in better shape. Everything worked (hot running water, toilet, wall a/c unit) and there was in room refrigerator. However, the positives outweigh the dingy outdated room.Our room was very close to the free shuttle stop that took us to the popular trailheads, and it was glorious to wake up to gorgeous view of yosemite falls after sleeping in warm comfy bed AND maximizing our time AT THE PARK rather than driving in and out 90 minutes from outside the park lodging. The dining options were awesome especially since we drove up without any groceries or cooking utensils. The basement eatery is cafeteria style dining which was FINE with great breakfast options and lunch. We ate dinner one night at the Mountain Room (snag a reservation before you go) which we thought was better than Ahwahnee. other positives: the electric car chargers were accessible and perfect for our hybrid car. parking wasn't too bad but we were there second week of November and expected less crowds. The front desk staff friendliness varied greatly from the cold and unapproachable lady who checked us in to older gentleman who was curt but informative (bare minimum) to the friendly guy who helped at checkout. we stayed 3 nights total.
