Master The Raptor Route Network Featuring Four Distinct Mountain Biking Trails In Moab Utah
The Raptor Route in Moab is an exciting network of four distinct trails—Eagle Eye, Hawk's Glide, Falcon Flow, and Kestrel Run—offering a variety of terrain and challenges for mountain bikers. Eagle Eye, the highest point of the route, spans 2.3 miles and provides sweeping views from the LPS trailhead on Sand Flats Road. This trail serves as the perfect starting point for riders looking to experience the high-altitude beauty of the Moab desert landscape.
Hawk’s Glide, opened in November 2022, is a two-mile advanced trail featuring cliff exposure and technical sections with breathtaking vistas of the La Sals, Abajo, and Henry Mountain ranges. Falcon Flow, at 5.7 miles, is considered a true intermediate trail suitable for riders looking for a steady flow without extreme technical difficulty. These trails are designed to test your skills while rewarding you with some of the most iconic views in the entire United States.
Kestrel Run, the newest addition opened in Fall 2023, completes the Raptor Route system with an additional two miles of scenic terrain. For riders looking to extend their adventure, a short pedal from the drop-off point leads to the UPS (Upper Porcupine Singletrack) trails, which are part of the larger Whole Enchilada system. Depending on the route, riders can access the lower UPS at 0.25 miles from the drop-off, or pedal 1.2 miles to the Kokopelli Trail entrance.
Whether you are a seasoned pro or an intermediate rider, the Raptor Route offers a diverse range of experiences that cater to different skill levels. The combination of technical cliff sections, flowing intermediate trails, and stunning mountain vistas makes this a premier destination for mountain biking enthusiasts. With the ability to connect to the larger Whole Enchilada system, the possibilities for exploration are endless, ensuring that every ride on the Raptor Route is a unique and challenging adventure.
