Enjoyed my time watching the ice-walls. Such a cool place to visit and watch the water flow and the ice walk itself.
This was my first time ice climbing and I had a really great time. I had a wonderful guide, though.
Awesome ice climbing area without the crowd. Lake city ice park has three separate walls each with their own name and parking area. We climbed at the first and final walls which were excellent. Both had a porta potty and warming hut. The park is also totally free (but they had some donation boxes). Be prepared with lots of static line to set large anchor extensions from up top if you plan on top roping. Access wasn't terrible but it's a bit of a climb up to the top with a full kit of ropes and anchor gear. The guy who runs the ice park also runs San Juan soda company so be sure to stop by and check that out too (and thank him for maintaining an awesome park). When we were there he put a coupon for a free coffee or ice cream on our windshield which we took him up on.
