This course is designed to help climbers expand their skill set beyond traditional free climbing by introducing basic aid climbing techniques. Participants will learn how to use etriers, haul systems, and ascending methods to navigate sections of a climb that require mechanical assistance. These skills provide a foundation for tackling more technical and challenging routes, allowing climbers to safely progress in their abilities.
In addition to aid climbing, the course focuses on improving overall climbing technique and route-reading skills. Participants will practice strategies to handle more difficult terrain and learn how to analyze complex and involved routes. By the end of the course, climbers will gain confidence in both their technical abilities and their decision-making, enabling them to approach advanced climbs with skill and safety.
