To trek along whilst being attached to the world-class Telluride Kroger Via Ferrata on the sheer cliff faces of Telluride's iconic box canyon is the experience of a lifetime. Cliffs, old growth forest, Colorado's tallest Bridal Veil Falls, 13,000 plus foot peaks, extraordinary geology, beautiful town of Telluride in the distance. MountainTrip is a friendly, professional organization with a deep passion for all things Outdoor Adventure. Our guide Ashley was Superb!!!!! Perfect balance of informative guide and expert leader.
I took my 14 year old daughter on a dad-daughter trip to climb the Via Ferrata, and we found Mountain Trip. Our guide Jeff, is the best in the business. He assessed our skill sets and then gave the encouragement to both of us that we could do things we maybe wouldn’t have realized we could. My daughter even did the Sky Climb, one of the hardest routes, if not THE hardest in Via Ferrata. That’s so good for a girl her age to know she can do anything! That’s life changing. Thanks Jeff! Highly recommend.
Human performance = human connections. This is such a great program, but since it’s a human performance activity, the guides really should be engaged and interactive. Marcus called us the day before but did not end up being our guide. I went with Taka instead, and I’m glad I did. During the hike, Marcus spent most of his time on his phone and mainly spoke to the other guide when he wasn’t on his phone. Very strange. I tried chatting with him a few times, but he seemed focused on personal use of his phone rather than the group. This definitely affected his tip and made me choose to stay with Taka’s group. When I asked Marcus if he knew how far we are from the rest of the team, he replied, “I don’t know,” which confirmed he was on his phone unprofessionally/personal leisure. Taka, on the other hand, was excellent. He captured special moments, gave great instruction, and brought warmth and soft skills to the experience. He earned a generous tip because of his effort and presence. My suggestion: please ensure that guides are attentive and not distracted by their screens. It’s extremely unprofessional and rude. A little genuine human connection goes a long way in making this kind of activity truly memorable.
