Colorado is an incredible destination for ice climbing, turning the idea of ascending a frozen waterfall into an exciting and achievable experience. With guidance from experienced instructors, climbers quickly develop the rhythm, balance, and technique needed to move confidently on ice, making it possible to enjoy the sport throughout the winter season. The state offers a wide range of venues, from the well-known ice park and expansive backcountry terrain in the San Juans near Lake City to more approachable and less committing Front Range locations. This variety ensures that climbers of all levels can find routes suited to their skills and ambitions.
From the first swing of an ice tool, climbers can advance through structured learning and hands-on practice. Beginners start by mastering essential skills such as using crampons, handling ice tools, and understanding basic safety systems. As their abilities grow, they can pursue more advanced routes, including classic multi-pitch climbs like The Sherman Route or more technical mixed and alpine challenges. With its diverse terrain, expert instruction, and dramatic winter landscapes, Colorado truly offers something for everyone in the world of ice climbing.

My experience with Colorado Climbing Company was perfect! The trip went off without a hitch, and I was able to climb some difficult peaks that I wouldn’t have attempted with a group of other climbers. As usual, I learned a lot more from an expert guide than I would have with my peers. I highly recommend Colorado Climbing Company to anyone who is looking for a challenge but wants to come home safely. Expert guides are worth it!

Jeremiah was absolute amazing for my first outdoor experience! I called multiple companies tonsee if anyone had availability for while I would be in Colorado for work. A few took my number and said they need to find a guide (Guess they are just a broker), a few didnt answer. Jeremiah called me within hours of my email while he was on vacation out of the country! So not only does he own the company, but he's the lead climber. Cant even thabk him enough for not just such an amazing time, but the immense learning experience he made it. We didnt just climb, we discussed technique, how to handle gear, and proper etiquette while on the trails. He start you of on a simple climb to warm you up and see your skill set, and begins to step it up. Here I was thinking I would only be doing a few top rope climbs, but took me on a multi-pitch adventure! Being from Florida where we have no hills, I havent stopped bragging to my friends that indoor Climb with me 😂 And the fact that Jeremiah takes the time to get some amazing photos is priceless!!! Already booked my 2nd climb with him while still here for work! Theres people that do their job for the money, he definitely does it for the passion 🙏🏻💯

While road tripping through Colorado I had two opportunities to climb with the Colorado Climbing Company, and both were fantastic experiences. My guides for each adventure, Jeremiah and Spencer, were professional and well prepared, while also being great people to climb with. I learned climbing skills at every opportunity, from lead belay techniques to rappelling, and feel that I could replicate them on my own now. I also got to climb some really fun multi pitch routes, learning both the skills involved in that and how to handle loose/crumbly rock in a controlled environment (something that came in handy later on some solo adventures). For anyone looking to get into rock climbing in the Colorado area, I highly recommend the Colorado Climbing Company to help you get started.

Jeremiah took my 9 year old grandson out for his first time on rock. (Lots of time on climbing walls.) Jeremiah was great with him. He immediately tuned into my grandson’s personality and challenged him without overwhelming him. He pushed my grandson to achieve things he never thought he could, all while having a blast. It took me hours to get his feet back on earth and I could only do it by promising he could go back out soon! (I’m hoping to climb with Jeremiah next year.)

Holy smokes, these guys ROCK ( literally 😆🧗🏽♀️🧊) A huge shoutout to Olivia who was my ice climbing guide in Lake City. I am pretty new to ice climbing and I felt like this trip helped me grow tremendously. She was not only a master at all things ice climbing, but was a fantastic teacher. Learning knots, in addition to the art of ice climbing, can be overwhelming but she made it such a blast. We had an 8 hour trip and she somehow managed to keep me pumped the whole time. And as a new climber, she made it such a safe place to learn and ask ALL the questions. I’ve used plenty of guiding services before but these guys are definitely my top choice. Also met Jeremiah, the owner and a lead guide, who happened to be out on the ice with another group. He was very personable and kind, even stopping by to check in on how my trip was going. Super excited to book with them in the future and grow in ice and rock! PS check out their awesome work taking some cool photos that I can cherish forever!
